Ripping & Running
Redirect force. Seeking to rip your arm through the defensive back, rip up their arm, and redirect them away from the play. Angles are crucial; you want the defensive back to take the path of least resistance with the goal of getting at least one hand on the DB.
Justin Grandenetti is the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at Jack Britt High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Coach Grandenetti will be presenting on blocking progression and provide tips on how to get receivers hyped to block, not just catch a ball.
