[NAIA Poll] Saint Francis (Ind.) Survives Top 8 Bottle With Concordia (Mich.)

Concordia (Mich.) erased a 20-point deficit against Saint Francis (Ind.) to knot the game at 27-27. With a chance to win the game on a field goal in the final seconds, the Cardinals’ kick was blocked and returned for a touchdown to give Saint Francis a 34-27 win. The loss dropped Concordia six spots to No. 10 while Saint Francis moved up one to No. 7 in this week’s AFCA NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The road doesn’t get any easier for the Cardinals as they face their fourth straight Top 25 opponent when they travel to No. 3 Marian (Ind.).

Morningside (Iowa) still holds the top spot after dispatching Briar Cliff (Iowa), 49-14, and moving to 5-0 overall. Kansas Wesleyan solidified their No. 2 ranking thanks to a 90-0 blowout win over Saint Mary (Kan.). Marian, Grand View (Iowa) and Benedictine (Kan.) were all idle this past week and round out the Top 5.

In a battle for the top spot in the Mid-South Conference Sun Division, No. 12 Southeastern (Fla.) will hit the road against No. 18 Keiser (Fla.). No. 15 Langston (Okla.) and No. 17 Ottawa (Ariz.) will lock horns for the top spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference while the final matchup sees No. 24 Baker (Kan.) playing host to No. 23 MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.).
