[FCS Poll] South Dakota State Turns Away Illinois State

South Dakota State held off Illinois State’s fourth quarter rally to hold on and win, 38-28. The Jackrabbits’ third win in four weeks was good enough to move them up one spot to No. 7 in this week’s AFCA FCS Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The Redbirds fell four spots to No. 13 and will look to bounce back next week at Northern Iowa. South Dakota State will try to keep things going when they host Missouri State on November 3.

Following their 59-14 victory over South Dakota, North Dakota State gathered all 26 first-place votes for the seventh time this season. Kennesaw State remains at No. 2 following a 38-10 victory over Charleston Southern. The rest of the Top 5 also remains unchanged with James Madison, Eastern Washington and Weber State, respectively.

While the rest of the Top 10 remained largely unchanged, it did gain a first-time member. Following their 49-21 victory over Montana, UC Davis has jumped into the top 10 for the first time in 2018. They will look to make it six straight wins this week against Northern Arizona. They are joined by Jacksonville State, who is back in the Top 10 after a one-week hiatus. The Gamecocks will aim to make it two in a row this week against UT-Martin.
Week 10 will feature only one Top 25 matchup as Ivy League rivals No. 14 Princeton and No. 20t Dartmouth will battle for league supremacy in Princeton, N.J.
