[FCS Poll] South Dakota State Takes Down Youngstown State In Top 20 Matchup

Down 14-3 at halftime, South Dakota State scored 35 points in the second half to beat Youngstown State, 38-28. The Jackrabbits hold onto their No. 3 ranking in the AFCA FCS Coaches’ Top 25 Poll while the Penguins dropped only one spot despite their second straight loss, from 17 to 18.

North Dakota State continued their winning ways, dominating then-No. 10 Northern Iowa, 46-14, and moving its record to 6-0. The Bison still sit No. 1 with all 26 first-place votes. No. 2 James Madison survived their Top 10 battle, beating No. 7 Villanova, 38-24. Kennesaw State and Weber State also won, keeping the Top 5 the same for another week.

Five new teams entered the AFCA Top 25 for the first time this season. Sacramento State used an upset of then-No. 6 Montana State to vault to No. 17 while Austin Peay took down then-No. 22 Southeast Missouri State to come in at No. 19. Dartmouth joins fellow IVY League member Princeton in the Top 25, sitting at No. 21 with a 4-0 mark. New Hampshire beat Stony Brook, 20-14, and took their ranking at No. 23. The final newcomer is No. 25 UIW, who defeated then-No. 25 Southeastern Louisiana, 27-21.
