[D3 Poll] Wheaton Defeats North Central To Climb To No.6

Wheaton’s (Ill.) 35-21 victory over then-No. 5 North Central (Ill.) secures their No. 6 spot in the AFCA Division III Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. Wheaton looks to move to 5-0 on the season as they travel to face North Park (Ill.) this coming weekend. Holding steady ahead of Wheaton is No. 1 Mary Hardin-Baylor (Tex.), who received 45 first-place votes after a 79-0 blowout win over McMurry (Tex.).

Mount Union (Ohio), Wisconsin-Whitewater and St. John’s (Minn.) hold their places from last week, but with North Central’s drop in the poll, Muhlenberg (Pa.) jumps up two places to No. 5 this week. The Mules are 5-0 after beating Franklin & Marshall (Pa.), 49-6.

Wisconsin-La Crosse, Hobart (N.Y.) and Trine (Ind.) drop out of this week’s Top 25, allowing No. 23 Central (Iowa), No. 24 Susquehanna (Pa.), and No. 25 Cortland (N.Y.) into the poll. There are three Top 25 matchups this coming weekend, but the biggest is a Top 10 battle as No. 4 St. John’s plays host to No. 9 Bethel (Minn.).
