October 14, 2019
Wisconsin-Whitewater totaled 513 yards of offense, including a season-high 376 yards of rushing, but had to hold on for a 21-14 victory at home against then-No. 19 Wisconsin-Platteville on Saturday. With the win, the Warhawks remain at No. 3 in the AFCA Division III Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. Whitewater looks to move to 6-0 as they travel to Wisconsin-Stevens Point this coming weekend. Ahead of the Warhawks are No. 1 Mary Hardin-Baylor (Tex.), who received 43 first-place votes, and No. 2 Mount Union (Ohio), who received the remaining 10 first-place votes. No. 4 St. John’s (Minn.) and No. 5 Wheaton (Ill.) round out the Top 5.

Chapman (Calif.) dropped then-No. 17 Redlands (Calif.) out of this week’s Top 25 thanks to a 21-18 victory, which vaulted the Panthers in at No. 24. Union (N.Y.) joins Chapman as the second newcomer this week after beating Rochester, 47-19. The Dutchmen hold the 25th spot. There is only one Top 25 matchup coming up this weekend, and it is a big Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference battle, as No. 4 St. John’s plays No. 13t St. Thomas (Minn.) in a clash between two historic rivals.
