[D3 Poll] North Central beats Conference Rival Illinois Wesleyan To Move Up To No. 11

No. 11 North Central (Ill.) grabbed a stranglehold on first place in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin after defeating then-No. 15 Illinois Wesleyan, 38-20. The Cardinals advance to 8-1 on the season and move up one spot to No. 11 in Week 8 of the AFCA Division III Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. Illinois Wesleyan moves down nine spots to No. 24 after suffering their second loss of the season.

Winner of nine straight games this season, Mount Union (Ohio), holds on to the No. 1 spot for the eighth week in a row. Mary Hardin-Baylor (Tex.) remains at No. 2 following their 80-7 rout over Louisiana College. Brockport (N.Y.), Wisconsin-Whitewater and St. John’s (Minn.) round out the Top 5.

There are two Top 25 matchups coming up this weekend. First, No. 7 St. Thomas (Minn.) travels to No. 23 Bethel (Minn.) for a battle within the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. In the second matchup, No. 10 John Carroll (Ohio) hosts No. 21 Baldwin-Wallace (Ohio); both are currently tied for second place in the Ohio Athletic Conference with 7-1 conference records.
