[D3 Poll] Mary Hardin-Baylor Ranked No. 1 in First AFCA Division III Coaches’ Poll of 2021

After a one-year hiatus, the AFCA Division III Coaches’ Top 25 Poll is back, and it has a familiar face at No. 1. Just like they did in 2019, Mary Hardin-Baylor (Tex.) begins the 2021 poll at No. 1. The Crusaders are 3-0 with 26 first-place votes and handed Southwestern (Tex.) a 54-3 loss on Saturday. UMHB will have their biggest game to date on Saturday as No. 6 Hardin-Simmons (Tex.) comes to Belton, Texas.

Wisconsin-Whitewater comes in a No. 2. The Warhawks are 3-0 after defeating Berry (Ga.), 39-7. They are followed by No. 3 Mount Union (Ohio). The Raiders are 2-0 after beating Baldwin-Wallace (Ohio), 31-7, and will have a Top 25 matchup of their own this weekend as they travel to No. 21 John Carroll (Ohio). 2019 NCAA Division III national champion North Central (Ill.) hits the Top 25 at No. 4. The Cardinals received 15 first-place votes and are 2-0 after a big win over conference rival Wheaton (Ill.), 20-7. St. John’s (Minn.) rounds out the Top 5. The Johnnies are 2-0 as they get ready to face No. 15 Bethel (Minn.) in a key Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game.
