[NAIA Poll] College Of Idaho Clinches Playoff Berth With Win Over Montana-Western

Trailing 20-10 at halftime, the College of Idaho scored 21 unanswered points in the third quarter to beat Montana-Western, 38-27. The win clinched the Coyotes first-ever Frontier Conference championship and guaranteed their first post-season appearance since the 1953 Refrigerator Bowl. College of Idaho held their No. 6 spot in the AFCA NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll while the loss dropped Montana-Western out of the rankings.

The Top 5 remained unchanged with Morningside (Iowa) still holding at No. 1 after a 52-7 win over Concordia (Neb.). The Mustangs are followed by No. 2 Marian (Ind.), No. 3 Kansas Wesleyan, No. 4 Grand View (Iowa) and No. 5 Northwestern (Iowa).
The top of the poll will have a new look after the final week of the regular season with two Top 10 matchups. The first is a Top 5 battle for the Great Plains Athletic Conference championship as No. 1 Morningside travels to No. 5 Northwestern. Both teams have identical 8-0 conference marks heading into one of the biggest games of the season. The second Top 10 matchup has No. 7 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) traveling to No. 8 Cumberlands (Ky.) with first place in the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division on the line.
