[NAIA Poll] Dickinson State Survives On The Road At Waldorf
November 4, 2019
Dickinson State (N.D.) had to play catchup most of the game in their Top 25 showdown against Waldorf (Iowa). The Warriors took a 28-21 lead with 7 minutes to go in the game, but Dickinson State responded with a touchdown drive of their own to make the score 28-27 after a failed two-point conversion. The Blue Hawks defense stopped Waldorf on the next drive allowing their offense to drive and hit a game winning field goal with seconds left to play, winning 30-28. The win moved Dickinson State to No. 20 in the AFCA NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, while the loss dropped Waldorf out of the rankings.

The Top 5 remained unchanged with Morningside (Iowa) still sitting No. 1 with all 17 first-place votes. In fact, the top 11 teams stayed put, but that might change this coming week as three of the Top 6 teams will face off against ranked opponents. Poll newcomer and No. 25 Indiana Wesleyan will not have long to enjoy their new ranking as they host No. 2 Marian (Ind.). No. 3 Kansas Wesleyan also hits the road as they travel to No. 23 Sterling (Kan.), while No. 6 College of Idaho gets to stay home as they face No. 24 Montana-Western.
