
Mount Union Wins 35th OAC Title
No. 3 Mount Union (Ohio) remains undefeated after a thrilling victory over No. 24 Marietta (Ohio). Trailing 21-14 with just seven minutes left in the game, the Purple Raiders scored 14 unanswered points to secure a dramatic 28-21 victory. A 51-yard touchdown run tied the game at 21-21, followed by a 27-yard touchdown pass that gave Mount Union the lead for good. This win earned the Purple Raiders their 35th Ohio Athletic Conference championship and extended their streak to seven consecutive titles.
Cortland (N.Y.) preserved its perfect 9-0 record with a thrilling 29-28 victory over Brockport (N.Y.), securing its fourth consecutive Empire 8 title. Their win allows them to remain No. 2 in the AFCA Division III Coaches Poll, presented by Hudl. The game was tightly contested, with Brockport holding a 28-26 lead and driving to the Cortland 17-yard line late in the game. The Red Dragons’ defense pushed Brockport back and their 4th down pass fell incomplete, giving Cortland the ball back with 1:54 remaining at its own 23-yard line. After a methodical drive, kicker Mike Baloga delivered a clutch 38-yard field goal to seal the win.
