Marietta Pioneers Make History

Last week, Marietta (Ohio) made history by being ranked in the AFCA Division III Coaches Poll, presented by Hudl, for the first time at No. 25. This week, they climbed the rankings to No. 23 after a strong 52-6 win against Wilmington (Ohio). With an overall record of 8-0 and a perfect 7-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, the Pioneers are gearing up for a big challenge next Saturday, November 9th, when they face No. 3 Mount Union on the road.
Springfield (Mass.) is steadily rising in the polls, now ranked No. 20 after maintaining their perfect 8-0 record with a convincing 56-14 victory over Norwich (Vt.). The Pride displayed their offensive power by scoring two touchdowns in every quarter and recording 578 yards of total offense, with 485 coming on the ground at nearly eight yards per carry. With a win over Merchant Marine (N.Y.) this coming Saturday, Springfield will look to lock up at least a share of the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference title.
