UW-Oshkosh Stuns UW-Platteville In Homecoming Win

Wisconsin-Oshkosh celebrated homecoming with a thrilling 24-17 victory over previously ranked No. 6 Wisconsin-Platteville, handing the Pioneers their first loss of the season. Oshkosh’s offense was clicking early and the defense stepped up when needed. Platteville took a 10-3 lead into halftime, but the Titans scored 21 points in the second half and held on for the win. Wisconsin-Oshkosh rose to No. 14 in this week’s AFCA Division III Coaches Poll, presented by Hudl, while the Pioneers dropped to No. 11.
No. 9 Wisconsin-River Falls improved to 5-1 after a dramatic comeback win over Wisconsin-Stout. Trailing 27-6 at halftime, the Falcons scored 28 unanswered points to tie the game and force overtime. During overtime, Stout got the ball first but managed only a field goal. River Falls responded quickly, punching in a touchdown to secure the thrilling 40-37 victory.
The top five teams—North Central (Ill.), Cortland (N.Y.), Mount Union (Ohio), St. John’s (Minn.), and Hardin-Simmons (Tex.)—remain unchanged and perfect with identical 6-0 records.
