Delaware Valley Gets Top 25 Win

Delaware Valley (Pa.) used a dominating defense to beat then-No. 25 Stevenson (Md.), 26-7. The Aggies defense held Stevenson to just 32 yards rushing and 213 yards of total offense. The win over the Mustangs moved Delaware Valley’s record conference win streak to 39 straight games. The Aggies move up to No. 9 in this week’s AFCA Division III Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.
There was very little movement in the Top 25 this week. No. 1 North Central (Ill.) beat conference rival Wheaton (Ill.), 33-20, dropping the Thunder nine spots to No. 22. In the biggest matchup of the season in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Wisconsin-Whitewater held on for a 34-31 victory over Wisconsin-La Crosse. The win moved Whitewater to No. 3 while the loss dropped La Crosse to No. 11.
With their loss to Delaware Valley, Stevenson dropped out of the Top 25, making room for Lake Forest (Ill.) to take their spot. The Foresters enter the poll with a 4-0 record after beating Cornell (Iowa), 41-10. Next on the calendar is a date with Illinois College on October 8.
