Minnesota State Still No. 1 in AFCA Division II Poll

Minnesota State prevailed in this season’s first big matchup, edging past then-No. 3 Minnesota-Duluth, 20-17, to hold onto their No. 1 spot in the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The Mavericks garned 24 first-place votes this week, while No. 2 Colorado State-Pueblo received six first-place nods after their 41-14 victory over Central Washington. West Georgia and Northwest Missouri State moved up to third and fourth, respectively, and each received one first-place vote, while Pittsburg State (Kan.) jumped two spots to No. 5 after its 38-14 win over Northeastern State (Okla.).

There are two Top 25 matchups in the second week of action as No. 7 Ohio Dominican plays host to No. 20 Grand Valley State (Mich.) and No. 10 Delta State (Miss.) travels to No. 18 Texas A&M-Commerce.
